Hello, This is an interesting project. I am a native Russian speaker with US English as a second language (23 years in NY and PA). I would like to take this project. However, it is hard to assign an accurate price, without evaluation of the data. With all due respect to your grandmother, elderly people have tendency for some speech impediments. Usually, a translation from audio source starts with transcription from audio to text. Thus, the process of translation eased. In cases, when the audio recording is not of high quality or human factors involved the transcription becomes useless. And the translation could be done only 'by hand'. Of course, this makes the process more difficult and much slower. I would like to hear a sample of these recordings. One minute length of audio file should be sufficient. This would give me a good understanding of what I would be dealing with. My standard rate of translation 1800 characters without spaces/256 words/1 minute - $8.00 But since this is very long project, the rate could be adjusted. Hi, i am a bilingual (English/Russian) recent graduate with a lot of experience in english-russian translations and writing. I can send you some samples of previous translations or even to a 1 min video translation as a sample (but you need to message me for that as i cannot attach it to this bid). In terms of price i think it is best to agree on the final price for the whole video( not per minute or hours of translation) i think 280-300$ would be okay for me for the whole project.
